About this Site

The portraits on this site represent a very small fraction of the total number of images taken by the photographer.

Images were chosen for two reasons: foremost, they are favorites of the photographer. Second, they represent a cross section of ages, from the elderly to the very young, both male and female.

It should be noted that the preferred style of the photographer is "journalistic." That is, images are typically taken while the subject is engaged in normal life activities. Seldom are subjects "posed." Even the image of "Johnny," which gives the impression of being purposefully structured, was taken at the moment he chose to sit and relax during an active afternoon at the beach.

Finally, Adobe Photoshop is liberally used by the photographer as would a darkroom in years past. It is also used as an artist's tool kit capable of producing interesting, useful and often sophisticated results.
